Data Use
Subscriptions
Visitors who sign up to the website (subsequently receiving notifications of new posts via email) provide an email address.
Comments
Visitors who leave comments provide the comment itself, the name or username and the email address entered into the comment form.
Technical data
Information typically provided by web browser, mobile devices and servers including IP address, browser type, language preference, date and time of access, operating system and mobile network information. This information helps Scene Therapy understand when visitors accessed the website and from where in the world, helping to schedule relevant future posts at relevant times.
Cookies
Visitors’ web browsers provide and exchange information with websites each time a user visits a site. These strings of information are called ‘cookies’ and help websites understand how many unique users are visiting their website, which web pages are most popular and what time the visits take place. They also help websites recognise a returning visitor, saving their username or email address in contact or comment forms if they have used them before – these are for the convenience of users so they do not have to re-enter information every time they return to a website. These preferences are generally saved for 12 months.
Cookies are also used to target users with specific ads, which advertising providers believe may be of interest to the visitor. If visitors are in the EU they may see a pop up upon their first visit to the site, asking if they would like these personalised ads or whether they would prefer those ad-specific cookies not to be saved. Visitors from anywhere in the world can change their cookie preferences through their web browsers.
Personal Information
Visitors also provide information by interacting with the site through forms such as subscribing to receive notifications of new posts (this requires an email address) and leaving comments under a post (requiring an email and name/username).
Scene Therapy is powered by WordPress who use the Gravatar system:
‘When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.’
Any information submitted to Scene Therapy via a contact form or comment will not be used, leased, soled or distributed by Scene Therapy to third parties nor used for marketing purposes.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
