Nicky Hilton’s Brookhaven Home

After marrying in 2015, James Rothschild, of the famous banking dynasty, moved into Nicky Hilton’s NoHo penthouse apartment in Manhattan. Three years later they bought a pretty neo-Georgian estate together on Long Island. This post takes a look at James Rothschild and Nicky Hilton’s Brookhaven Home:

In September 2018 the Rothschild-Hiltons bought a 6-bedroom, 4-bathroom property in Brookhaven, for $2,750,000. The neo-Georgian house was built in the 1920s and sits on a 4 acre corner lot with gravel in-and-out drive and oval swimming pool, all hidden from view by established maple and oak tree woodlands.

Despite purchasing the holiday home in September 2018, in April 2019 the couple were ‘still unpacking’, with an image shared to Nicky’s instagram of her husband emptying boxes in one of the property’s six bedrooms. In the room, expertly painted with wood panel illusion walls, a pretty double bed sits with iconic upholstery in Bennison fabrics, including a matching canopy and bench. The print is Bennison’s Cochin (blue red on oyster), which also upholstered an armchair previously shared on Hilton’s instagram.

Bennison fabrics, and other delicate prints, are a reoccurring feature of the Hilton-Rothschilds Hamptons residence, with vivd prints found in the sitting room and the conservatory. The use of dainty floral prints by Nicky has increased in recent years, perhaps due to her exposure to traditional British homes through her British husband. This can be seen in their Manhattan apartment which features several British staples such as an upholstered club fender, intricate marble fireplace, which was inherited from James’ family, ample bookshelves (not colour coded), large vintage rugs in deep indigos and crimsons, wingback armchairs and window seat squabs in Bennison’s Cordoba print, and numerous antique pieces that James inherited of the Rothschilds.

The Hamptons House, already had a certain British flair before the dynastic couple moved in, with a double brick construction in a classic Georgian-era English style built with bricks dating back to 1836, complete with sash windows, chimney stacks and an elegant wood conservatory imported from England. Inside are a wealth of design features including refined mouldings, plaster and woodwork, four ‘grand’ functioning fireplaces, high ceilings, hardwood flooring, arched integrated shelving and alcoves and a converted attic with half-fan windows looking out onto the large lawned garden.
