Inspired by our Presidential Properties series, which will continue throughout the year, we’re also going to look at some president-adjacent homes. This post explores Ivanka Trump’s homes as the daughter of the current incumbent.
Ivanka Trump’s first apartment
After finishing her schooling in 2004, Ivanka Trump purchased her first home in her father’s 502 Park Avenue building for $1.5 million. The 2 bedroom 2 bathroom space was decorated by early 00s it-girl decorator Emma Jane Pilkington, whose design was featured in House and Garden magazine. The decor was very of its time, in that eclectic ‘shabby chic’ style that had become so popular. Some of the furnishings later made their way into Trump’s Bedminster cottage. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s Park Avenue Apartment
After meeting and marrying Jared Kushner, Ivanka upgraded her dimly-lit, low-ceiling apartment to a bright and spacious penthouse a few floors up just in time for the arrival of her first child. Kushner sold his bachelor pad and, together, the couple moved into a $16 million 4 bedroom apartment decorated by interior designer Kelly Behun. The completed designs were featured in Elle Decor and the subject of Ivanka’s instagram account for several years until the young family moved into a rented house in Washington D.C. Ivanka Trump’s Bedminster Cottage
Arguably the Trump-Kushners’ prettiest home is their Bedminster cottage. The simple house sits within Donald Trump’s Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, where Kushner and Trump tied the knot in 2009. When Ivanka first claimed ownership of the cottage it was a small, one-room-deep bungalow with a converted attic space. The interiors were dated with deeply veined varnished oak panels, flooring and staircase, but was soon updated for Ivanka with fresh white walls and a white country kitchen with marble counters.
The cottage was perfectly symmetrical with a portico porch and three dormer windows, but in 2015 it was expanded with the addition of a basement and an extension to the side of the house, adding extra rooms and more depth to the original structure. A new chimney was also added, with an elegant open fire added to the new sitting room.
Ivanka Trump’s Miami House
According to reports, Trump and Kushner have now forked out $15 million for a mortgage on a $24 million McMansion on the gated island of Indian Creek in Miami. Located at 36 Indian Creek Island Road, the house features 6 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms and sits on 1.26 acres of Biscayne Bay waterfronted land worth $11,105,910. The estate is only a half an hour drive from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-lago, as well as Kushner’s brother, Josh, who purchased a $22 million mansion in Miami with his Victoria’s Secret model wife, Karlie Kloss. Indian Creek Island is popular with other Ultra High Networth Individuals and is primarily made up of the members’ only Indian Creek Country Club. The property was built in 1994 and is currently looking worse for wear, according to numerous reports. Until the island home is renovated/rebuilt, the Trump-Kushners are currently residing in luxury rented accommodation nearby at the Arte condominium.
